The Outer Banks has been drawing Renée a down to its windy dunes, brilliant sunrises and sunsets, and breaking waves since the early 60s. A native North Carolinian, over four years ago she succumbed to the allure and moved fulltime back to North Carolina from Virginia. Her beach-box Kill Devil Hills cottage between the highways is just 500 steps from the beach. Renée loves to capture nature at its best through the use of oils and acrylics. She works to create a memories frozen in time which will be remembered long after the moment has passed. Her oil painting nature-scapes include local beaches as well as mountainous areas she has visited throughout her life. Many times, she won’t know what the final oil or acrylic paintings will look like until it is finished. These are one-of-a-kind art pieces and her art and design are uniquely her own. Now retired, Renee devotes time between painting and enjoying the local scenes that are the subjects in her art.
I use many different mediums, such as acrylics, and oils.
I love the beach and how everyday is different. The sights, sounds, and smells inspire me to capture moments in time.
